Montana Road Trip

Friday, November 21, 2014

Montana was awesome. Only good memories. Maybe because it was my first time in Montana. Maybe because we could finally use our cellphones for internet after being in Canada with no service for over a week. Maybe because we got to sleep in a teepee (which we'll share in the next post).

One of the first things we did was hop into some antique stores full of antlers, furs, and old bottles. I bought an antler candle holder and old horse blanket. Then crossed the street to buy fresh cherries and beef jerky at a roadside stand. I loved the small town country feeling.

We spent a day driving through Glacier National Park and did a few short walks, but didn't feel much like hiking with all the rain. Sadly the Going to the Sun road, which is the main road through Glacier, was closed due to a recent snow storm, so we missed a good part of the park. We'll be back. We did enjoy sitting in a historic hunting lodge by a massive crackling fire with a glass of wine while it rained outside.

We have just two posts left of this camping road trip, and then South America photos! Can't wait to relive that trip with you guys. Also, be on the lookout for a 2015 calendar announcement real soon!

We love this field bag by Mollyjogger, one of our sponsors. It was perfect for our sleeping bags and blankets.

This water, wind, and abrasion resistant jacket from our sponsors, Filson, looks mighty fine on Yuriy.

Lake McDonald Lodge... perfect place to hang out by the fire while it poured outside.

    1. Abigail - Thanks for the thoughtful comment! We are not full time traveling right now, so I don't know if it's the dream life, but we try to get out as often as we can between work and school at the moment! :) Happy to have you along.

    1. Michelle - It had always been on my list but there was never a specific destination in mind or people to visit, so we put it off all these years. That's part of the beauty though! We'll definitely be back. I hope you go.
