Iceland Road Trip Continued

Thursday, July 11, 2013

We didn't spend too much time in Reykjavík and headed for the wilderness as soon as we could.

There's no better way to get to know a country than to rent a car and drive through it. And that's exactly what we did in Iceland. Having your own car gives you the freedom to pull over every 10 minutes for a photo, to pet horses, to climb lava rocks and touch the fuzzy moss, to see an incredible waterfall, to see another incredible waterfall, and to spend the night where ever you feel like taking a break.

  2. magical! it looks like y'all timed it perfectly. we were there in November and the road conditions were crazy. seems like y'all got to see a lot more of the countryside than we did. can't wait for part two, these pictures were phenomenal! i'm dying to return in the summer.

    1. We were there towards the end of March. It was still a little cold and windy but at least the roads were empty. I'm sure the summer would be better but then you have the crowds to deal with. Hope that helps a bit.

  15. Beautiful. I've been hearing a lot about Iceland. We live in Norway so it'd be a quick trip but we just don't have enough holidays to fit in everything we want to see while living here. It's always a dilemma narrowing down trips!
